from the recipe box: crisp apple strudel

the holidays aren’t officially here until your house is filled with the warm aroma of baked goods. the holidays are all about giving, and we love to give (& receive) yummy treats! one of our favorites this holiday season is traditional apple strudel. see below for an easy recipe and don’t forget to don your buckhead betties apron (shop them here) while baking all those holiday sweets!

you will need:
-4 granny smith apples, peeled and sliced
-1 cup brown sugar
-1 cup golden raisins
-1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
-1 egg
-1/4 cup milk
directions:
preheat oven to 400 degrees. line a baking sheet with parchment paper. place apples in large bowl & stir in brown sugar and golden raisins. set aside. place puff pastry on baking sheet & roll lightly with a rolling pin. arrange the apple filling down the middle of the puff pastry lengthwise and then fold the pastry around the mixture. seal the edges of the pastry by using the water on your fingers and rub the edges together. whisk egg & milk together and brush on top of the pastry. bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
